About Griffin York Rite

The Griffin York Rite is a Prince Hall Affiliated York Rite body serving Companions, Illustrious Companions, and Sir Knights in Griffin and the surrounding communities. Our work centers on fellowship, education, spiritual reflection, and service to others.

History of Griffin York Rite

The Griffin York Rite bodies are part of the York Rite tradition of Freemasonry, which builds upon the foundation of the Symbolic Lodge by offering deeper lessons in faith, service, leadership, and moral character. The York Rite consists of three primary bodies: the Royal Arch Chapter, Cryptic Council, and Commandery of Knights Templar.

The Royal Arch Chapter is regarded as the completion of the Master Mason’s journey, symbolically restoring what was lost and emphasizing humility, devotion to God, and service to others. Together, the Chapter, Council, and Commandery provide a path of continued growth and reflection through degrees rooted in biblical history and moral symbolism.

Today, the Griffin York Rite brings together Companions of the Chapter, Illustrious Companions of the Council, and Sir Knights of the Commandery in fellowship, education, and service—preserving the traditions of Freemasonry while strengthening brotherhood and community in Griffin and the surrounding area.
